ADJUSTMENT AND MOUNTING OF THE VIOLIN AND VIOLA SHOULDER REST
SHAPING THE SHOULDER REST BASE:
The shoulder rest base comes in a standard shape for use by any player. If you find this setup unsuitable, we will show you how to adjust the rest to fit your shoulder. You will need to hold the shoulder rest on both ends while bending it to the desired shape.
MOUNTING THE SHOULDER REST:
Hold the violin in the left hand and the right (narrower) end of the shoulder rest in the right hand. Place the left (wider) end of the shoulder rest with the foot onto the left back side of the violin. Slide the right (narrower) end of the shoulder rest onto the right back side of the violin.
ADJUSTING THE SHOULDER REST – WIDTH, HEIGHT, TILT:
The various shoulder rest components allow for its perfect adjustment to the violin. The brackets can be shifted to adjust the width of the shoulder rest and the feet rotated to set its height. Having mounted the shoulder rest, hold the violin in your right hand and use the articulated mechanism to adjust the tilt.
